Diploma in Nursing (General, Psychiatric & Community) and Midwifery
Training
Presently learners are allocated to any one of the college's campuses. Lectures are given by the lecturers of the college and must be attended according to the college's annual programme.Tests and examinations are written at pre-determined times. Learners are also expected to hand in assignments and complete projects given to them by the Lecturers. Allocation of these facilities is done by the Campuses. Limited accommodation is available at Campuses and Clinical facilities.

PROGRAMME CONTENT
The Diploma covers a four-year period. A student is only allowed to fail one study year. Maximum period allowed to complete the course, is 5 years. Should a learner therefore fail one year, she/he can only repeat that year of study once. The learners training will be terminated if she/he should fail any year thereafter. A learner will not receive a stipend whilst repeating a year of study. Standard Examinations are written yearly during October/November each year. Supplementary Examinations are written during December of the same year.

FEES
Administration fee of R100,00 which forms part of the application process and is non-refundable and must be deposited into the college bank account. The College reserves the right to adjust the amount. Deposit slip as proof of payment must be attached to the application form.
NB: no cash shall be accepted
Tuition fee is paid by all learners, registered for training. The amount is determined by the College Council and is deducted in accordance with stipulated terms. Successful candidates must register with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as learners by paying a prescribed fee to SANC for this registration.
BOOKS
A list of prescribed books is made available to learners during orientation.
Please note that prescribed books are expensive and may cost in the region of R4,000.00 per annum.
NB: it is compulsory that learners buy prescribed books.

STIPEND

Currently the Provincial Administration of the Limpopo Province, Department of Health provide learners with a stipend.
BOARD AND LODGING
Board and lodging is available at a prescribed monthly fee. Learners shall sign a lease agreement for the accommodation provided.
NB: no catering is provided
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (CONTRACT)
All learners shall sign a memorandum of agreement with the department on admission to the college

UNIFORMS

Uniforms will be provided.

LEAVE

Leave of 22 working days per annum is granted according to Government Service Regulations and is taken during December/January annually.

HEALTH SERVICES

Learners have access to health services at their own cost, should it be required
